What Is Mission Week?
WOW Mission Week engages emerging leaders from across the country. Men and women of all ages come together for nine incredible days to join with WOW in developing evangelistic tools to reach their own inner city by using the training they receive in WOW JAMS. Morning session workshops contain a variety of topics: how to secure city permits, the dynamics of feeding thousands of people a hot meal, getting corporate sponsorships, spiritual warfare in outreaches, dealing with inner city challenges, organizing teams to meet practical needs, learning crowd dynamics, personal spiritual growth, praying with people to be saved and baptizing them in water. Morning sessions are geared toward preparing the interns for the many ministry teams that make up a WOW JAM. In the afternoons they apply what they learned in a real setting in the inner city with thousands of hurting people that come to a WOW JAM.
In the past several years over 2,000 interns deepened their relationship with Christ, learned effective evangelism skills, worked with teams in intense ministry, and were challenged to share Jesus with others when they returned to their home communities. Many interns return each year, desiring to go deeper in training and experiencing hands on ministry.
Proven spiritual leaders have come as special guest speakers: Dr. Jack Hayford, Joy Dawson, Jim Tolle, Bill Wilson and many others! They speak passionately into the lives of the interns, believeing it will be from this pool of young leaders that the future church planters, evangelists, musicians, administrators, and entrepreneur financers for ministries will emerge to carry on the work of building the Kingdom of God.
