Tavani Biography
“Stephen and Linda Tavani are missionary-heroes of this generation!Their passion for the lost and the way God grants them exploits of spiritual triumph are as moving to witness and as dramatic to hear of as any great missionary accounts from history. Our urban centers, rife with gangs, drugs, and broken lives, are as hopeless as India was before Carey, or China before Judson. But God, now as then, is raising up a gifted, dynamic, self-sacrificing new breed to penetrate the darkness and desperation in our cities, and the Tavani’s are pointing the way.”

These are the words of world-renowned Dr. Jack Hayford , whose church witnessed over 10,000 people giving their hearts to Jesus over the last few years in Los Angeles, California, through the ministry of Stephen and Linda Tavani!

Stephen, a Wheaten College graduate and successful songwriter and producer for talents such as Smokey Robinson, The Winans, Crystal Lewis and others, is emerging as an extraordinary communicator and a profound visionary for evangelism. Linda sold over nine million records as Peaches in the multi-platinum group Peaches and Herb with their smash hit Reunited. Their three Gospel albums, Urban Missionaries , Bought with the Blood, and Perfect Love have not only had chart-topping success in radio stations all over the world, but the anointed music has touched thousand of lives. Linda’s phenomenal voice, linked with her distinctive magnetism, is a perfect companion to Stephen’s powerful singing and passionate preaching. Together, with their love for Jesus, they are an amazing couple reaching today's world with life changing results!

Their purpose is to build the Kingdom of God through the local church. They want to bring the church to the streets and the streets back into the church. The streets are not just a geographical location but a state of the heart. When a person is broken, hopeless, and full of despair they are in the street – even if they live in a mansion.

Through WOW (Winning Our World) International, a non-profit organization, Stephen and Linda have led more than 330 WOW JAMS in more than 40 cities, engaging more than 200 churches, mobilizing 120,000 volunteers, and training 1,680 interns. WOW JAMS repaired 28,671 bikes, fed more than 985,242 people a hot meal, took more than 11,794 family photos, gave away 22,609 potted plants, gave 7,568 hair cuts, provided 40,811 bags of groceries, baptized 3,528 people since 2002, and ministered before over one million people. Most importantly, over 404,729 people have committed their lives to Jesus Christ through their ministry. They demonstrate a passionate, fruitful, and credible commitment to reaching our cities for Christ, while engaging churches, mobilizing believers, training emerging leaders, and developing corporate sponsorships.

Stephen and Linda’s fresh and creative urban evangelism not only has direct evangelistic effectiveness, but also benefits the greater church through modeling innovative approaches and providing practical training and opportunities. Stephen and Linda build relationships among churches in cities that often continue beyond shared sponsorships of WOW JAMS, and helps new churches effectively launch with an influx of new believers.
