Mission Week

MISSION WEEK NEW YORK 2008 -
JULY 12 - JULY 21, 2008

Come join us for a week filled with powerful worship, anointed speakers, practical workshops, and hands-on opportunities to reach the lost in some of the  neediest areas in New York!

Join us, as we partner with others from around the country to see lives transformed, as God uses you to minister to those who need the love of Jesus. Just by painting a child's face, rocking a baby, serving a hot meal, or playing games with children – you make a difference. You will have the opportunity to reach someone only you can reach. To bless someone and, in return, be blessed. Most important – you will have the opportunity to stand with someone and pray with that one to receive Jesus Christ! And, in the end, you will have made a difference in the life of "one."

The following is a brief overview of what to expect during your time with us: SUBJECT TO BE CHANGED.

Upon arriving at the airport, we'll pick you up and bring you to the YMCA where we will all be housed.

Saturday evening begins with an incredible dinner, followed by an orientation meeting discussing the week's expectations.

Sunday morning we are all bussed to our hub for the week for brunch, followed by a church service; then, on to the Bronx for flyer distribution. That evening there will be a concert and then back to the hub for dinner.

Monday-Saturday (except Thursday). Each morning we are bussed to our meeting location for breakfast, followed by our daily activities that include worship, a speaker, workshops, lunch and a WOW JAM! That evening we are all bussed back to our meeting place for a delicious dinner (and I mean DELICIOUS); and, finally, back to our home for the week - the YMCA.

Thursday you will have an opportunity for some R/R. Take time to see Manhattan, catch a Yankees game, visit Times Square, or have a nice dinner in Central Park. Don't forget about the incredible shopping, too!

Sunday - our last day. The day when we witness the water baptism of those who accepted Jesus. What a glorious day it will be! Our last night together always brings a tear to everyone's eyes as friendships were formed, relationships grew deeper, testimonies shared, and individuals changed from when they first arrived to when they leave WOW JAM Mission Week.

Monday - All depart for home!

Does this sound like something you'd like to be a part of? Then come on out and a bring a friend, a family member, or youth group! It's hard work, great rewards, divine appointments, and blessings from above! And we can't wait to do it all again in 2009!

We hope to see you at our next WOW JAM Mission Week in New York!

Most frequently asked questions:

  1. Does the $800 include travel?
No, the $800 includes only lodging, transportation from the New York airport to the YMCA and back, 3 meals a day, 2 WOW JAM
t-shirts, and a workbook. It does not include your day off.
  2. Where do we stay and what do we need to bring?
Each year we stay at a YMCA The YMCA is equipped with bedding and towels; similar to a hotel setting. You do need to bring toiletries.
  3. How do I register for my team or myself?
You may download the registration forms from our web site. Please mail in with a $250.00 deposit, per person, by April 30, 2008. After the WOW office receives your information, you are confirmed; and, in return, will receive a packet of info and items to bring. A group of 10 or more people will be given a Group Discount of 5%, upon arrival.
  4. What is the age limit?
We at WOW believe you are never too young to reach out to the lost! We encourage families to come, junior high groups, pastors, and so on. We do ask that you bring a sufficient number of leaders for your team.
  5. Can New York be a dangerous setting for young people?
Anywhere can be dangerous; however, I can honestly say we have never encountered a situation that was dangerous for our interns. God's protection has been on every group we have ever hosted. We are also wise with our team and place very strict boundaries on where they go and where they don't go.
  6. Are we expected to be at all events each day?
Yes! We believe when we come together we join together as one team to serve the Kingdom of God. We worship together, we minister together, we eat together, and we work hard together. We become a force against hell to reach the lost for Jesus!
